Eight Colorado City men have been indicted by a Mohave County Grand Jury on charges of sexual misconduct with a minor.
The indictments of seven of the eight were the result of investigative leads provided to the Mohave County Attorney's office by the Attorney General's Office during the last year. "Seven of the indictments announced today are the direct result of the Attorney General's Office working with local law enforcement to investigate cases of child abuse," Attorney General Terry Goddard said. "Matt Smith has done an admirable job in taking investigative leads and aggressively pursuing charges of child abuse. Today's announcement makes the point that no community is outside the law." Terry Darger Barlow, Vergel Bryce Jessop, Donald Robert Barlow, David Romaine Bateman and Rodney Holm were indicted last week. Randolph Joseph Barlow, Dale Evans Barlow and Kelly Fischer were indicted four weeks ago. Bateman was arrested by Mohave County Sheriff's deputies on Friday in Colorado City , and the rest turned themselves into the Sheriff's office in Kingman today. All eight men from the polygamous community were indicted on various charges of sexual misconduct with a minor and conspiracy to commit sexual misconduct with a minor. The indictments were not announced until today when all of the men charged had been arrested. Source: Attorney General Press Release: 07.11.05 |
